1. What is a Hụi/Hội (Kasca)?
A Hụi (or Hội) is a traditional rotating savings and credit association (ROSCA) widely popular in Vietnam and other parts of Asia. It consists of:
- Host (Chủ hụi): The organizer who sets up the group, manages calculations, verifies participants, and guarantees payments.
- Members (Hội viên): Participants who contribute a fixed amount of money every period and take turns receiving the lump sum ("payout").
- Share/Slot (Chân hụi): A single participation slot in a group. A member can buy multiple slots in a single group to save more or borrow multiple times.
In Huio, a mutual savings group is called a Kasca.
2. Setting Up Your Account
Getting started with Huio is simple:
1. Download the App: Install Huio on your iOS or Android device, or access the web app.
2. Verify via OTP: Register with your phone number and confirm via SMS OTP.
3. Choose Your Role:
* Host (Chủ hụi): Select this if you are organizing and managing groups for your friends, family, or business partners.
* Member (Hội viên): Select this if you are joining groups organized by other hosts.
4. Complete Profile: Add your full name and link a bank account (supporting 17+ major Vietnamese banks including Vietcombank, Techcombank, and digital wallets like MoMo/ZaloPay).
3. Creating Your First Kasca (For Hosts)
If you are a Host, you can create a new savings group in 4 simple steps:
1. Basic Details: Give your Kasca a name and set the Base Contribution (e.g., $100 or 1,000,000 VND per period).
2. Configure Rules:
* Set the Cycle Period (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or every N days).
* Choose the Commission Fee Type:
* `on_open` (Host receives a fee when the group starts).
* `on_win` (Host takes a commission percentage from each winner's payout).
3. Add Members: Add slots from your contacts or create manual drafts. Members can own multiple slots (e.g., Member A has 2 slots, Member B has 1 slot).
4. Preview & Launch: Review the calculated total periods and schedule, then tap Launch to activate the group.
4. Joining a Kasca (For Members)
To join a Host's group:
1. Open the Invite Link (which uses a Universal Link like `https://huio.app/join?token=TOKEN`) or scan the QR Code shared by the Host.
2. Confirm the number of slots (chân hụi) you wish to register.
3. Wait for the Host to approve your entry and launch the Kasca!
5. Invitation Flow & Automatic Registration (Invite & Auto-mapping Flow)
Huio optimizes account setup so that hosts and members do not need to configure anything manually:
- Phone-based Auto-mapping: When a Host creates a group and registers members by their phone numbers, the system creates placeholder profiles. As soon as those members register on the app with their phone numbers, the system automatically matches and links their accounts with all pre-created slots (`hui_slots`).
- Directory Contact Sync: Member notes and bank accounts are synchronized globally with the Host's directory database using their phone numbers. Any updates made in the Directory will automatically propagate across all groups they participate in.
6. Export Documents & Automated Bills
Huio replaces Excel spreadsheets and manual Zalo sharing with auto-generated documents built directly from live app data:
- Member Payment Slip (E2): Personalised bill with P&L, amount due, and VietQR. There is no menu label — tap the grey doc icon next to a member in Finance → Today or Groups → Payments (Đóng tiền).
- Group Info Sheet (E1): Full group overview. Groups → select group → doc (top right) → Group Information Sheet.
